Moonlight Ramble will close the streets of St. Louis late Saturday

St. Louis’ annual nighttime bike ride, the Moonlight Ramble, takes place Saturday night. Downtown and surrounding streets will be impacted during the late evening and early morning hours.

The event, a leisurely ride that draws thousands of riders and takes place each year around the time of the full moon in August, begins this year on Saturday night in Midtown.

Although most closures occur late at night, there are also some earlier in the day on the festival grounds where the event starts and ends.

Locust Avenue will be closed from Compton to Garrison at noon and from Compton to Beaumont at 4 p.m.

The main closures begin at 10.30pm in advance of the 11pm drive.

The ride heads east on Locust, south on 18th Street/Truman Parkway, west on Park Avenue, then around Lafayette Square Park before heading north again and then east on Chouteau Avenue.

Parts of Broadway south of downtown, Seventh and Eighth Streets near Busch Stadium, and Market Street downtown will also be closed.

With the exception of the festival site on Locust Street, all streets are expected to reopen by 1 a.m.

Police officers are stationed at intersections to regulate traffic.

Below you will find a full route map.

If you’d like to participate, 11- and 16-mile rides are offered. Registration is available online or at the Saturday night event, which begins and ends at 3108 Locust Avenue in the Midtown neighborhood.
