One of the best modern western series is running on Prime Video

Although largely overlooked by television audiences, Emily Blunt’s western miniseries The English certainly deserves far more attention and praise.

The problem with My Lady Jane is that the series failed to attract enough viewers when it debuted on Prime Video. The series’ debut season failed to crack the top 10 of Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings for original series and came and went without making much of a splash. Despite good reviews, the lack of interest from Prime Video subscribers must have been reason enough for Amazon to lose faith in the series’ future, bringing it to a quick end. My Lady Jane.

The series will not keep its promise to continue the story

At the end of the first season, it was implied that the “story is not over yet.” Of course, there were hopes of continuing with a possible second season, but nothing was said about that. The good news is that the end of the season also provided a natural end point for the story arc surrounding the central couple, Lady Jane Grey (Emily Bader) and Lord Guildford Dudley (Edward Bluemel), as the pair had a happy ending.
