Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is looking forward to the WNBA All-Star Game, which will take place in Indianapolis next year.

Clark made her remarks before Indiana’s home game against the Phoenix Mercury on Friday night (conversation begins at minute seven).

“Oh God, no … I’m going to hide,” a smiling Clark said in response to a question about whether she was ready to carry the torch for the All-Star Game, like Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton, who said he felt like the “mayor” of the NBA’s version last February in Indianapolis.

“I’m just happy that if I’m lucky enough to be an All-Star again, I’ll be able to sleep in my own bed. I wouldn’t have to sleep in a hotel room and I wouldn’t have to travel. I think that’s what I’m looking forward to the most.”

“But honestly, I’m really happy for our organization and our franchise and the city of Indianapolis. I think it’s a testament to how they supported us early in the year and through the first 26 games. We had a ton of fans on the road, a ton of fans at every single home game, it was sold out. You can just feel the enthusiasm and excitement, so I don’t think there could be a better place for the All-Star game next year. I think everyone knew that…”

Indiana leads the WNBA in attendance with 16,898 fans per game, led by Clark, the reigning two-time national college player of the year.

Given the team’s enormous popularity since Clark’s arrival, it only makes sense for the WNBA to capitalize on that and hold the league’s flagship event in Indianapolis. It will also be the first time the WNBA All-Star Game, which was created in 1999, will be played in the city.

The 2025 WNBA All-Star Game will be held on Saturday, July 19, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
