Relatives mourn man killed in three-car crash after driver attempted to make illegal left turn

A Philadelphia man is being remembered for his commitment to the community after he was killed in a fatal car crash at the intersection of Kelly Drive and Reservoir Drive on Thursday.

Philadelphia police identified the victim as Steven Moultrie, 41.

His mother, Teresa Moultrie, was unavailable for an interview with FOX 29, but provided a photo of her son on Friday.

Steven was a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity and was named Brother of the Month for June.

The fraternity posted on Facebook: “It is with heavy hearts that the Brothers of Nu Sigma Chapter share the news of the passing of Brother Steven T. Moultrie. Please pray for his family and friends.”

LaMarr A. Smith, a fraternity brother and close friend, said Steven was a whirlwind who loved his community and his people.

“He literally volunteered anywhere and at anything and never said anything bad about it. He loved it. He believed his service was part of his commitment to his brotherhood and community,” Smith said. “A fantastic friend, a real true brother, someone who cared and a true example of what it means to be a servant to the community and for that I will forever honor him.”
