Germany-based alternative band Seven Blood have released their brand new single and music video for “House ≠ Home”, which followed her debut single “Killing from within”, produced by Anfy Hartmannmixed by Dan Weller (Shikari performance, absence, Bury tomorrow) and mastered by Dick Beetham. Both are available to stream now.

“House ≠ Home” showcases Seven Blood’s blend of technique and heart-wrenching emotion in a cathartic and uplifting anthem. The track draws on the band’s shared yet contrasting backgrounds – from guitarist Oliver Arnold and the disillusionment of drummer Anfy Hartmann while growing up in Suhl, a former metropolis of the German Democratic Republic that faced a strong urban decline after German reunification, as well as the isolation that the singer Azaria Nasiri as a young woman whose multicultural background – she was born in Berlin to a Moroccan mother and an Iranian father – fueled a crisis of belonging.

Azaria says:

“I had a lot of questions about who I was and about my family’s culture. I felt very lost, a person without an identity. I think we’ve all had similar experiences where we felt like we no longer had a loving home.”

Revisiting memories of family arguments, dealing with stepparents, and more, Azaria’s quiet, tender verses reflect the sensitivity and fragility of youth before launching into an uplifting chorus that mimics the empowerment one feels in adulthood when one has the ability to find a place to call one’s own.

Azaria adds:

“It’s about breaking these chains and escaping all the feelings of the past,”

Seven Blood was also announced as support for the friendly German metalcore band. Palace of the Future And Our promise in the EU and two dates in the UK this winter. Tickets here!
