Huntsville Transit is offering free rides on all Orbit routes on Sunday, August 18th and Sunday, August 25th from 2pm to 4pm.

The public is invited to join the transport operators in testing all lines that will be operated from the new Transit Center in 521 Pratt Ave. NW before its opening on Tuesday, September 3rd.

“This is an excellent opportunity for riders to become familiar with the new facility, the major changes planned on routes 2, 5 and 6, and the new route 56 to Bailey Cove, which serves locations in South Huntsville,” said Quisha Bryant, director of parking and public transportation.

Huntsville Transit recommends that riders come to the new Transit Center, take a loop ride to familiarize themselves with the routes, and return to the Transit Center by 4 p.m.

In addition to the August practice sessions, all Huntsville Transit rides will be free to celebrate the opening of the Transit Center in September.

“We encourage everyone to experience the conveniences of the new route and state-of-the-art transit center,” said Mayor Tommy Battle.
