A man’s reaction to his wife sitting in first class without him excites the Internet

A video of a husband’s hilarious reaction to seemingly being left in economy class after his wife received a “last-minute” upgrade has gone viral on TikTok.

His reaction was captured in a video shared by his wife, Dominique Parrish (@welltraveledchild), a 38-year-old family travel content creator from Raleigh, North Carolina. The clip has been viewed 2.6 million times since it was posted on August 2.

The moment occurred on a June flight on Copa Airlines, Panama’s flagship airline. “We were on their first flight from Raleigh to Panama City – it’s a brand new route… I was invited to be on their first flight to create content,” the poster said. News week.

A message superimposed on the clip reads: “POV (Point of View): You got an upgrade to first class, but your husband didn’t…”

The footage shows the post’s author sitting in first class with a drink in her hand. The camera then pans back and captures her husband’s face visible through a slit between the curtains. The husband appears annoyed and has a stern look as he looks at the camera before the clip ends.

Although first class seats are considered the epitome of luxury in air travel, some airlines have reduced their first class offerings due to declining demand.

In October 2022, American Airlines announced that it would eliminate first-class seats on international flights and replace them with business-class seats, which more passengers are willing to pay for.

According to CNN, Vasu Raja, the airline’s chief commercial officer at the time, said in a conference call with investors: “First Class will not exist on American Airlines for the simple reason that our customers don’t buy it.”

Raja noted: “The quality of business class seats has improved tremendously. And frankly, by eliminating (first class), we can provide more business class seats, which is what our customers want most or are most willing to pay for,” CNN reported at the time.

Delta Air Lines and United have also reportedly cut their first-class seats by almost half.

‘This look’

Parrish said Newsweek: “At the last minute we got a two seat upgrade. Since we are a family of four, I wasn’t sure at first how we should divide the seats and they suggested we split the seats into an adult and a child and swap halfway through.

“So that’s what we did. That way I could pick the content I needed and enjoy half of the flight and then change planes. But when I could see my husband through the curtain, I got the idea for the video. And on the way back, our whole family was upgraded,” she noted.

TikTok users laughed their heads off at her husband’s reaction in the viral clip.

“HAHAHA!!!!!! The fact that he can see you through that tiny gap!” said stellasullivan660.

MalNGsd said: “He looks totally crazy. Look at him again…”

“That look… the betrayal was devilish,” Smitdogff remarked.

Another said the woman should have said, “Hmm, excuse me flight attendant, can you TURN OFF the air flow, there’s a bright light coming through.”

Lucila wrote, “I would have stood up and closed it (the curtain),” and one user remarked, “You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life. Let them close the curtain.”
