Coldplay and Shawn Mendes sing “Fix You” at the Munich concert: Watch

Coldplay surprised their fans in Munich with a special guest during the band’s concert at the Olympic Stadium on Thursday (August 15): They brought Shawn Mendes along for a special performance of “Fix You.”

In clips posted by fans at the show, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin plays piano while blending his voice with that of the “Stitches” singer. “Sing loud!” Mendes urges the crowd before diving into the ballad’s emotional lyrics: “Tears streaming down your face / I promise you I’ll learn from my mistakes.”

Towards the end, Martin gave his duet partner the opportunity to sing the final lines of the 2005 hit solo. “Lights will guide you home / And set your bones on fire,” Mendes sang softly as fans in the stadium waved glowing bracelets in the air. “And I’ll try to heal you.”

The surprise appearance comes about a week after Mendes released two new singles ahead of his new album – “Why Why Why” and “Isn’t That Enough” Shawn. The LP will be released on October 18th and is his fifth studio album and follows the 2020 Wonder and 2018 Shawn Mendesboth of which reached the top of the Billboard 200.

Coldplay also has a new album on the way — Moon Musicwhich is set to be released on October 4. A day after the performance with Mendes, the band revealed their track list and posted a video on Instagram in which Martin writes the song titles on a small piece of paper – or draws, in this case it’s simply a rainbow emoji.

In total, Moon Music consists of 10 tracks: “Moon Music”, “feelslikeimfallinginlove”, “We Pray” feat. Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna & TINI, “Jupiter”, “Good Feelings” feat. Ayra Starr, “🌈,” “iAAM,” “Aeterna,” “All My Love,” and “One World.”
