Uncle Sharkii Poke Bar partners with Lee Kum Kee to create Chicken Teriyaki Poke Bowl

Lee Kum Kee, a global manufacturer of authentic Asian sauces and condiments, announced an exciting new brand partnership with Uncle Sharkii Poke Bar, a popular quick service restaurant chain offering fresh and flavorful Hawaiian-inspired poke bowls.

As part of this partnership, Lee Kum Kee’s Teriyaki Glaze, known for its sweet and savory flavor profile, will be used to create a new and irresistible menu option: The Chicken Teriyaki Poke Bowl. The ready-to-use glaze will also be offered as a permanent menu item in all Uncle Sharkii branches nationwide, allowing customers to incorporate it into other poke bowls on the menu as well.

“We are thrilled to partner with Uncle Sharkii and bring our teriyaki glaze to their menu,” said Grace Chow, vice president of mainstream foodservice and industrial sales at Lee Kum Kee (US). “Our glaze is a perfect complement to the fresh seafood and vegetables in poke bowls and we know customers will love the added depth of flavor it provides.”

Japanese immigrants brought teriyaki to Hawaii in the 19th century while working on the islands’ sugar plantations, and it has been a popular way of preparing it ever since, especially on the west coast. “Teri” refers to the shine created by the sugar, and “yaki” means grilling. Lee Kum Kee’s teriyaki glaze is made from a blend of soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and other spices, creating a rich and flavorful glaze that’s perfect for marinating, grilling, or dipping.

The introduction of Lee Kum Kee’s Teriyaki Glaze is in line with Uncle Sharkii’s mission to become America’s Poke Shop. “Teriyaki Glaze brings a familiar and popular flavor to our menu, elevates our offerings and delights our customers. It’s a flavor that has been requested by many repeat customers,” explained Quynh Vu, Marketing Manager at Uncle Sharkii.
