Cleveland Browns WR causes a stir before the second week of the preseason

The Cleveland Browns made a big move this season, signing wide receiver Jerry Jeudy from the Denver Broncos. After failing to live up to his potential and expectations in his first four years, Jeudy hopes to revive his career in 2024.

Jeudy has outstanding talent, which made him the 15th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, things never worked out with the Broncos.

Although he didn’t live up to expectations in Denver, the Browns were happy to sign him. They believe he will be the missing piece of the Air Raid offensive puzzle alongside Amari Cooper.

Jeudy has turned heads through the second week of the preseason, looking great and ready for the regular season.

According to Cleveland’s official website, Jeudy had a very strong day during a joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday.

“Jeudy had a strong practice on Thursday, showing off his outstanding route-running skills that made him a coveted transfer target for Cleveland in the offseason. In the 1-on-1 drills, Jeudy made a cut and lost CB Nayshon Wright in the end zone, catching a pass from Watson for a touchdown. In the 60-second drill, Jeudy made a diving catch on fourth down that would have put the Browns in the red zone, but time ran out before they could make another play.”

After practice, head coach Kevin Stefanski talked about Jeudy and his growing chemistry with starting quarterback Deshaun Watson.

“I think it’s progressing; I think they’re doing a good job. Jerry is running good routes. He’s friendly to the quarterback.”

In the 2023 season with the Broncos, Jeudy played in 16 games, catching 54 passes for 758 yards and two touchdowns. In 2022, he had the best season of his young career with 67 receptions for 972 yards and six touchdowns.

Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Jeudy has a chance to finally live up to expectations. He will play a big role in the Browns’ offense, and if Watson can also bounce back this season, the offense should be very dangerous.

It will be interesting to see how the 2024 season actually plays out for Jeudy, but at this point, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about him.
