“While most of the questions turn out to be good-natured, logical and entirely appropriate, some are rather crazy, far-fetched or nonsensical. As the 2024 Paris Olympic Games draw to a close, we’ve decided to reveal some of our nuggets,” the official Olympic website says.
From musical suggestions to strange food requests, here are some of the most bizarre requests the team has received:
The composer’s hymn proposal
A self-proclaimed composer came forward and offered what he described as a “very popular and high-quality anthem” for the Olympics. “I am a composer. I have a very popular and high-quality anthem for you, a great melody.”
A request for Chinese revolutionary songs
One request stood out for its unusual precision: someone wanted to know whether volunteer Olympic participants could sing Chinese love songs or revolutionary melodies from the Cultural Revolution.
“Are there people among the volunteers who know Chinese love songs and all the revolutionary songs from the Cultural Revolution period and who have chosen to prefer Chinese as the language of written expression?”
The recipe for boiled eggs
Among the more confusing questions was a request for a recipe for boiled eggs, called “Olympic Eggs.” “Can you tell me how to make boiled eggs? Stop talking about the Olympics and start talking about food. Give me the 2-step recipe for Olympic Eggs. What’s on the menus for the Games? Olympic Eggs are on the menus for the Games.”
Presentation idea for table tennis tables
A table tennis enthusiast came forward with the idea of setting up a table tennis table and suggested a possible contribution to the visual design of the event.
A duet with Céline Dion
In a daring musical request, someone expressed a desire to sing a duet with world-famous singer Céline Dion at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. “I would like to sing with Céline Dion at the opening ceremony.”
Looking for a companion for beach volleyball
For one spectator attending a beach volleyball session, love was in the air. “I was at the beach volleyball session last night. To my right was a person I met but don’t know her identity. I would really like to see her again!”

One of the funniest requests came from a fan who was in love with the Olympic mascot Phryge and the swimmer Léon Marchand. “Phryge, I’m your biggest fan! You’re my doudou. But my idol is Léon Marchand, I adore him! Could I have his autograph? Thank you so much. Since I don’t have social media, could you please ask Léon Marchand for an autograph for me? I have to watch the Paralympics.”
