How to get tickets, parking passes and ride wristbands for the 2024 NYS Fair (Pro tip: don’t bring cash)

Geddes, NY — The 2024 New York State Fair will continue to accept cashless payments (card payments only) in parking lots and at entrances. So how do you get tickets? The best way to avoid waiting in line, poor cell reception or other problems is to do so in advance.

Adult general admission tickets to the fair are $8 (was $6 in 2023) and are available online at etix.com. A parking pass is $12.

The fair also offers a “regular” ticket for $25, which allows admission to all 13 days of the fair.

Parking passes and general admission tickets are available online or by calling 1-800-514-3849 Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.

You can purchase tickets at the entrance by card, but you will need to use one of the electronic kiosks or a QR code on your phone.

As for parking, it is best to buy a pass in advance and then show it to the parking attendant on your phone or print a copy. (EZPass Plus is no longer a possibility for parking.)

Apple Pay and Google Pay are not accepted for entry or parking.

However, many of the fair’s vendors and food stands accept cash, so it doesn’t hurt to bring a few dollars for food and drinks.

Passes for the rides are also available online.

A “Mega Pass” wristband allows the user unlimited rides each day of the fair. It costs $95 and is available until Wednesday, August 21, 12:00 p.m. (opening day).

A Ride All Day wristband costs $29.95 in advance and is valid for unlimited rides in one day. They will be available at that price until August 21 at noon, after which the price will increase to $37 on weekdays and $47 on weekends.

The fairground is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on all days of the fair, except on Monday, September 2nd, when it closes at 9 p.m.

The fair will take place from August 21 to September 2.

Unused 2023 tickets will not be accepted for the 2024 State Fair.
