Grice Connect has produced a Resource Guide for victims of TS Debby. This guide is a one-stop shop for flood victims and individuals and organisations wishing to provide assistance. Keep checking back as we will update this list as new resources become available.
While our community is still recovering from TS/Hurricane Debby, we are working to gather all information from those affected by the storm in one easy-to-access location. Bulloch VOAD continues to rely on GA VOAD and national VOAD partners to get as much help to the community as possible.
Bulloch County Public Safety and EMA continue to post information about roads and other helpful topics on their Facebook page, so please check back there regularly.
Storm victims
We currently encourage anyone needing assistance related to the storm to contact the Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief Command Center at Southbridge Community Church, 12376 US 301, Statesboro, GA. You can also reach them by phone or email (see below).
Phone: 770-853-0729
E-mail: (email protected)
network: GABAptist.org
All GABDR volunteers are trained in mold removal and flood removal, have undergone a background check and are qualified.
Some of the services they provide for flood victims for FREE:
- Remove anything that was touched by floodwater, including furniture, flooring, wallboard, insulation, cabinets and more.
- Treating homes with Shockwave disinfectant to inhibit mold growth
- Citizens can obtain premixed Shockwave at the Command Center if they bring a container
- Citizens who do not have a sprayer will receive a sprayer with Shockwave
They also help maintain a list of unmet needs and have teams on site to assess and support them.
If they can’t help you, hopefully they can connect you with other organizations that can help.
Make sure that all persons assisting you are accredited and verified members of Georgia Baptist Diaster or have been registered and verified by them.
Our goal with a centralized source of help is to prevent malicious actors from sneaking in and taking advantage of victims. Please be cautious when accepting help or assistance from someone you do not know and who has not been vetted by Georgia Baptist or Bulloch County VOAD.

Safety instructions
Use generators safely. Always use outdoors and at least 20 feet away from windows, doors, and adjacent garages. Make sure the generator stays dry and protected from rain or flooding.
Flooding can affect power supplies because utilities may shut down parts of the power grid. In the event of a power outage, use only flashlights or battery-operated lanterns for emergency lighting. Never use candles during a power outage as the fire risk is extreme.
Document any property damage. If possible, take photos and contact your insurance company immediately for assistance and next steps.
Be careful when cleaning up. Wear protective clothing, including a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, work gloves, and sturdy, thick-soled shoes. Do not attempt to remove heavy debris yourself. Use an appropriate mask when removing mold or other debris. People with asthma and other lung conditions and/or immunosuppression should not enter buildings where water leaks or mold growth are visible or smellable. Children should not participate in disaster cleanup efforts.
