Two Upstate companies help create the Southern Living Idea House 2024

MHK Architecture from Greenville and Dillard Jones Constructiona luxury home builder in North and South Carolina, collaborated with Allison Elebash Interiors and landscape architect Scott Parker of DesignWorks to work on the 2024 Southern Living Idea House.

MHK Architecture designed the Johns Island home, while Dillard-Jones built the 4,400-square-foot residence. The home includes indoor and outdoor entertaining areas, a pool and a carriage house.

“The 2024 Southern Living Idea Home is the culmination of a 20-year relationship with Southern Living,” said Tom Dillard of Dillard-Jones. “This opportunity allowed us to partner with MHK Architecture and Allison Elebash Interior Design to create an exceptional Kiawah River waterfront home. Everything about it, from the location to the design and interior finishes, is perfect. We are incredibly proud of the collaboration and teamwork that brought this vision to life. It couldn’t have gone better, and we’re excited for people to see it. This home will be a great introduction of Dillard-Jones to the Charleston market.”

The home will be featured in the September 2024 issue of Southern Living. It is also open for tours through December 22, Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Southern Living Idea Home is closed on Thanksgiving Day and will be decorated for the holidays in November. Admission is $25 per person and a portion of ticket proceeds will benefit three Lowcountry charities: Communities In Schools of SC, Sea Island Habitat for Humanity and the Emmanuel Nine Memorial Foundation.
