‘They’ll never ride the bus again’: Fort Bend ISD mother says her three children were dropped off at the wrong stop

FORT BEND, Texas – A Houston-area mother recounted terrifying moments as she frantically searched for her children Wednesday after learning their children had been dropped off at the wrong bus stop.

Ebony Jordan told KPRC 2 that her children attend Fort Bend ISD, where the first day of school began Tuesday. But on Wednesday afternoon, as she was waiting for her three children (ages 6, 7 and 9) to come home, she received a call from an unknown number sometime after 4 p.m., according to Jordan.

“I got a call from a guy who the kids had asked to use his phone. So he gave the phone to my daughter and she said that the people on the bus were letting her get off,” she explained. “At that point, there was nothing I could do but drop the phone, stop what I was doing and try to figure out where my kids were at that point.”

“I kept calling the number, but they didn’t answer,” Jordan added. “I didn’t know what to think. I didn’t know where to turn. I immediately started calling the school. They didn’t answer. I started calling the transportation company. They finally answered. They transferred me to a lady, and no one had an answer. No one knew anything. So they tried to make contact – I think it was the bus driver, to ask what happened.”
