Bath & Body, Chipotle and furniture store open in Fort Liberty, NC

Earlier this year, Fort Liberty welcomed Potbelly Sandwich Shop, Sbarro and Panera to the post’s food courts. Since then, two retailers have opened and several shops and restaurants are in the pipeline.

These include a cigar shop, a pet boarding facility, two restaurants and a furniture store.

Here’s a look at what’s new and coming soon to Fort Liberty’s dining and shopping scene.

Open: The cigar box

The Cigar Box, which also has locations in Hope Mills, Southern Pines and Cary, recently opened a store in the Fort Liberty Exchange Mini Mall at 1013 Rock Merritt Avenue.

The cigar shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Open: Paws on Post Animal Kennel

Paws on Post Pet Kennel opened earlier this month near the intersection of Gruber and Knox streets. The kennel offers boarding starting at $45 per day for dogs and $18 per day for cats. Day care starts at $20 per day.

Business hours are Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., closed on Sundays.

Opening this fall: Chipotle at Glider Express

A Chipotle location is scheduled to open at Fort Liberty’s new Glider Express gas station and Grave Street supermarket on September 30.

The location will have a drive-thru and mobile ordering option, Thomas Kuttamperoor, manager of Fort Liberty Exchange, said at a Community Action Council meeting in July.

Opening this fall: Buyer’s Market at Mallonee Plaza

Buyer’s Market will open a second location in Fort Liberty on Sept. 24 in the former AAFES Furniture store in Mallonee Plaza on Butner Road, Kuttamperoor said at the July meeting.

Buyer’s sells secondary market furniture and home accessories at discounted prices and has been operating in the Fort Liberty Exchange Mini Mall for several years.

Opening this fall: Bath & Body Works in the North Post Mall

Bath & Body Works will open a store at North Post Mall in November, Kuttamperoor said at the July meeting.
