Usher postpones the first stop of his Past Present Future tour to rest

Usher is taking a well-deserved break to prepare for his highly anticipated Past Present Future Tour; but not without causing a stir.

On Wednesday (August 14), the “Yeah!” singer announced on Instagram that he was pausing his tour to give himself some much-needed rest and relaxation before the big kick-off.

“In my 30+ year career, I have put 100% of my blood, sweat and tears into delivering the best performance and giving my fans an unforgettable experience,” Usher’s Instagram post begins.

He added: “You’ll still see a little bit of the past, a little bit of the present and a unique look into the future on the new date, but you’ll also see 100% of me. The last thing I ever want to do is disappoint you, the fans who have been eagerly awaiting the start of this tour.”

“However, I wouldn’t be the entertainer I am if I couldn’t physically give you my best,” he continues in his message. “My team will inform you of the new date soon. I can’t wait to celebrate this legacy with you.”

The announcement sparked mixed reactions, with fans divided over the news.

“I drove hours to see you tonight, all the rehearsals you posted and whatnot and now you postponed opening day today?! This is crazy!!!! You’ve had since February to get everything together. I’m upset and very upset 😡😡😡😡 you knew this since last night but I bet you’re doing the concert on Friday and Saturday,” one user wrote.

“Flight just landed in Atlanta. So disappointed. But health comes first 🙏🏾,” another user replied, empathizing with the situation.

A third user sent congratulations, writing: “Take care! You can’t be your best if you don’t feel your best! 🙌”

On the other hand. Usher’s shows on Friday (August 16) and Saturday (August 17) at State Farm Arena in Atlanta are still happening! According to his official website, the party on the tour will continue through May 2025, with stops in major cities like Boston, Chicago, Toronto, Paris, Berlin and London.
