Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Jake McCarthy is on a roll. A run. A winning streak.

In his last 17 games, he had a batting average of .460 and 15 RBIs.

In his last four games, he has gone 10-for-18 with 12 RBIs, including a walk-off 2-RBI single with two outs and two strikes in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Colorado Rockies in the DBacks’ 4-3 win on Tuesday.

He is, as one social media account called him, the “hottest hitter in baseball.”

And he’s a big reason why the Diamondbacks now have a 68-53 record, tied with the San Diego Padres for the National League’s first wild-card spot, while Arizona is just 3.5 games behind the leading Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West.

Social media marveled at Jake McCarthy’s winning streak for the DBacks after Arizona’s win on Tuesday:

This season, McCarthy has a batting average of .311 with six home runs and 40 RBIs.
