Diabetes: Prevent, delay, bring into remission

Did you know that nearly half of all adults in the United States have diabetes and that in many cases the disease could have been prevented or slowed?

To learn how you or a loved one can prevent diabetes and its complications, attend a free HealthyU Wellness seminar with Clarise Largen, BSN, RN, CDCES, licensed diabetes educator. Diabetes: Prevent, delay, bring into remission. The seminar will be held on Thursday, August 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Healthcare Foundation of La Porte, 140 East Shore Parkway in La Porte, Indiana.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, 49 percent of adults in the United States have diabetes or prediabetes. Diabetes can lead to serious health problems, especially in people with chronic conditions such as obesity, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and high blood pressure.

During her talk, Clarise will go into detail about the steps you can take to stop the progression of type 2 diabetes. She will also allow plenty of time for a question and answer session.
