Brody Cress starts August with big wins and lots of money

Seven-time NFR saddle bronc rider qualifier Brody Cress is having a very hot August.

Cress competed in the Dodge City Roundup in Dodge City, Kansas, this month, where he had two rides that were scored 86.5 and 87, winning the average and earning him just over $7,000.

At the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo in Castle Rock, Colorado, his 88-point ride on Summit Pro Rodeo’s Black Mesa earned him $2,424.

In North Dakota, he earned over $13,000 at the Home On The Range Champions Ride, where he rode J Bar J’s Straight Moonshine to a score of 90 in the final round for $3,595.

Last weekend, Cress made three rides of 85 to 90 points and earned over $18,000 in just a few days.

Cress posted an impressive 90-point ride on Calgary Stampede’s Flying Carma to win the Farm-City Pro Rodeo in Hermiston, Oregon.

He added another win at another playoff rodeo in Lovington, New Mexico, at the Lea County PRCA Rodeo aboard Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Dirty Jacket. Cress scored 89 points and won over $8,000.

Cress was able to put some money in his wallet by scoring an 85 with Andrews Rodeo’s Gypsy Rose at the Summit County Fair and Rodeo (Utah), placing third on the ride and adding $1,950 to his earnings.

Cress is currently ranked 7th in the PRCA Saddle Bronc Riding World standings with total earnings of $146,061 this season.
