How to pair two JBL Flip 6 speakers in stereo mode

If you’ve always wanted more from your JBL Flip 6, or you and your best friend are so similar that he also owns a Flip 6, combining two of these popular portable speakers in stereo mode is something everyone should try at least once. Let’s face it: music isn’t meant to be heard through a single mono speaker.

Your favorite music will be heard with much more detail and instrument separation, not to mention it will provide much more room-filling power for you and your guests when entertaining. Below is a breakdown of how to pair a second JBL Flip 6 in stereo mode.

• Turn on both Flip 6 speakers.
• Only connect your device to a Flip 6.
• Press play and get started. JBL recommends playing at least 20 seconds of music before proceeding.
• Open the JBL Portable app on your device.

• The JBL Portable app detects the speaker that is currently playing music
• Once the speaker is detected, press the Connect/Partyboost button on both speakers at the same time.

• The app recognizes both speakers.
• Click the Partyboost button again and the app will show the option of Party or Stereo. Select “Stereo”. (Party plays paired mono signals)

It should be noted that stereo playback is only possible with two identical speakers of the same generation. This means that you cannot activate stereo mode with a Flip 5 and a Flip 6. However, you can connect them via Party Mode and use both speakers at the same time, but both will offer mono playback.
