LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – Four dogs lived without food or water in the Mojave Desert for several weeks until they were rescued by animal shelters in the Las Vegas Valley.

The Nevada SPCA released a press release about their rescue. They say four puppies were living outside of Baker, California without food or water until Paws Patrol LV was contacted.

On August 2, officials say, a Good Samaritan spotted the pups at a gas station on I-15. Paws Patrol confirmed to gas station employees that the four dogs had been roaming the desert for about a month.

After five days, Paws Patrol captured the dogs, who had reportedly been eating rocks to survive.

Four puppies spent weeks in the scorching heat without food or water in the Mojave Desert outside Baker, California, before being rescued by Paws Patrol LV of Las Vegas.

The dogs are now in the care of the Nevada SPCA.

“It’s a huge relief after spending so many sleepless nights wondering if these pups are safe from all the dangers in the desert, like coyotes,” said Joyce Foreman of Paws Patrol.

“After seeing the heartbreaking photos of these dogs in bony condition and vomiting stones, they are now safe and receiving the best medical care from our team,” said Lori Heeren, Executive Director of the Nevada SPCA. “We are so grateful to the Paws Patrol team for stopping at nothing to save these abandoned animals.”

Nevada SPCA says they are available for adoption. For more information, contact Nevada SPCA at 702.873.7722 or visit their website at nevadaspca.org
