There were so many announcements from Disney during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event!
Disney parks around the world are expanding and getting new attractions. There have been a lot of announcements, so we thought we’d break it down a bit and round up all the announcements for Disneyland Resort!
There have been some major announcements at Disneyland Resort and there will be a lot to look forward to in the coming years. Let’s take a look at the attractions that are coming to Disneyland Resort!
Opening date of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Disney has also announced the opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland Park! While this attraction has already opened at Disney World, the Disneyland attraction will open on November 15, 2024.
“Walt Disney – A Magical Life”
Disney has announced that a new show called “Walt Disney: A Magical Life” will be released theatrically alongside “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.” When this show premieres in 2025, it will feature the first audio-animatronics of Walt Disney himself.
“Walt Disney: A Magical Life” will premiere at the Main Street Opera House and will alternate with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” after the first series of performances.
New mission on the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers will receive an updated mission in 2026.
When the new film “The Mandalorian and Grogu” hits theaters in 2026, the brand new story featuring Mando and his youngest will be seen at both Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Avengers Campus Expansion
Not only will the Avengers Campus be double in size, Disney will also add two new attractions to the site. Construction is scheduled to begin next year.
The first new attraction will be called Avengers Infinity Defense. In this attraction, “the technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds has disappeared, and King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc wherever he goes.” You’ll join the mission and travel to places like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City, and even face King Thanos himself.
In addition to Avengers Infinity Defense, Avengers Campus will feature another new attraction: the Stark Flight Lab. When you enter the flight lab, you will feel like a superhero.
coconut attraction
The very first coconut ride will come to Disney California Adventure. The groundbreaking for the new attraction is planned for 2026.
This brand new attraction will take you on a journey with Miguel to the Land of the Dead. The attraction will be filled with the characters and music we love from Coconut.
Avatar topic area
Disney California Adventure is getting a new Avatar-themed area inspired by Avatar: The Way of Water and upcoming films from the franchise. This new area will also feature a brand new Avatar Drive!
The attraction takes you on “an excursion in search of majestic natural wonders found only on Pandora.” You travel on a boat ride through valleys, across open seas and through spooky caves.
Disney has also released some concept art for this new attraction. Although it is a boat ride, this experience seems to be quite different from the Na’vi River Journey currently available at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The first expansion to Disneyland will be the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on November 15, 2024, with more expansions planned in 2025 and 2026. In the meantime, be sure to check out our video of the perfect day at Disneyland:
