JD Vance says at campaign appearance that he is aiming for “baby number four”

BYRON CENTER, Michigan – Senator JD Vance (Republican of Ohio) told Michigan residents at a small meet-and-greet before his scheduled speech that he is “going after baby No. 4.”

Vice President-elect Donald Trump spoke to voters in a building filled with vintage cars, shaking hands and chatting.

Then Vance spotted a ten-month-old baby in the crowd and, in a classic politician’s maneuver, asked to hold it while the senator’s wife, Usha, took photos for the child’s family.

“I’m aiming for baby number four,” Vance said, reflecting on why he’s so good with children.

Vance has three children with his wife Usha – sons Evan, 6, and Vivek, 4, and daughter Mirabel, 2.

He spoke about the positive aspects of having children and advocated for an increase in the birth rate.

In his first speech as Vice President at the Republican Party Convention, the Senator called his children to him.

“If you’re watching, daddy loves you very much,” Vance said from the RNC stage in Milwaukee, before adding, “But get your butts in bed, it’s 10 o’clock.”

Another voter from Michigan spoke to Vance and his wife about being a first-generation immigrant, citing the fact that Usha’s parents are of Indian descent.

He also spoke to two other voters about their professions, a woman who had just graduated from high school and another who is a special education teacher.

The vice presidential candidate traveled through several states this week and last week, visiting several swing states and speaking to the media, stressing that Vice President Kamala Harris had not agreed to an interview.
