FLORENCE, Ala. (August 14, 2024) – The University of North Alabama football team will host UT Martin in its first game of the season on Thursday, August 15 at 7 p.m. at the Florence Sportsplex. This will be the fourth meeting between the Lions and the Skyhawks.
Live stats are available on RoarLions.com via StatBroadcast. The game will be broadcast on WLX Radio on 98.3 and 103.5 FM with “Voice of the Lions” Benjamin Ray and Amy Butler Bailey on the phone. The game will not be streamed on ESPN+.

NOTES
SERIES HISTORY: The University of North Alabama football team has an all-time record of 1-2 against the Skyhawks. The previous three meetings came in 1998, 1999 and 2021, with the Lions’ only win coming in overtime in 1999.
The Skkhawks explore: UT Martin will play two more friendlies before traveling to Florence, but will begin the season against the Lions. Last season, the Skyhawks finished with an overall record of 5-8-6 and a conference record of 2-2-5, which put them in sixth place.
NEW AREA: The Florence Sportsplex will host six Lions home games this season as renovations begin on Bank Independent Stadium. The game against UT Martin is one of two non-league games scheduled to take place on the new home turf.
PRE-SEASON OUTLOOK: The Lions played an exhibition game against UAB in Birmingham on Thursday, August 8. This season, 19 players are returning and 12 are newcomers. Last season, the Lions finished 11-5-6 overall and 5-3-3 in the Atlantic Sun Conference, making it to the finals of the ASUN Championship.
NEXT GAME: Following the home game against UT Martin, the Lions will play a neutral site game in Huntsville, Alabama at Joe Davis Stadium against Jacksonville State on Sunday, August 18 at 7 p.m.
