Emmerdale fans are outraged, branding a particular character as the most “annoying” resident of the iconic village.
Soap star Victoria Sugden, played by Isabel Hodgins, has been the focus of the ITV show since 2006 and is embroiled in numerous high-profile conspiracies.
Her journey has seen her endure everything from psychiatric treatment to steamy love affairs. Her life in the Dales has been anything but boring. The drama is particularly intense now that her long-lost brother has unexpectedly turned up.
Oliver Farnworth recently made his debut as John Sugden, Victoria’s new brother, and caused quite a stir when he appeared last week.
John wasted no time in causing trouble and quickly got into arguments with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), who he was dating, reports the Express.
In his first scenes, the encounter between John and Aaron led to a passionate moment in John’s van, after which John accidentally drove off with Aaron’s wallet and keys, leaving Aaron fuming.
The revelation that John is the half-brother of Aaron’s former husband Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) only fueled Aaron’s anger further.
Despite the chaos, Victoria is overjoyed by John’s presence and can’t wait to have a brother and bond with him.
The soap opera character Victoria has annoyed a considerable number of viewers, with many of them calling her the “most annoying character” on the show.
On the former Twitter channel, one viewer expressed his despair, saying: “Oh my goodness. Victoria is too presumptuous. John can’t breathe unless she talks like that all the time.”
Another person emphatically stated: “My GOD!!! Victoria is the MOST ANNOYING character on this show.” (sic)
In another discussion on an Emmerdale fan page on Facebook, a third commenter mentioned: “She is another character that the writers have ruined and changed her character and that is awful.”
Another person underlined this sentiment with the comment: “Victoria is relentless… she gets where castor oil can’t. Take the hint and leave John alone!” (sic)
A fifth fan commented: “She’s starting to get on my nerves, she keeps following him. If you keep this up I’m not watching anymore. She needs to leave him alone.” Another added: “Vic is getting on my nerves! Way too pushy!” (sic)
