“War has come to Middle-earth,” are the opening words in the trailer for the second season of Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and the following preview confirms this warning.

Sauron created 19 rings and distributed them to the different peoples of Middle Earth to bring them under the power of his One Ring. The trailer shows how they are already working their dark magic on the wearers.

The streaming service continues: “Friendships are tested and kingdoms begin to crumble” and “the forces of goodwill fight ever more valiantly to keep what matters most to them… each other.”

The first three episodes of the second season of “The Rings of Power” will air on August 29th, with new episodes streaming every week until the season finale on October 3rd.
