Katy Perry’s “Lifetimes” video under investigation in Spain

Katy PerryThe free-spirited “Lifetimes” video, which was shot in Ibiza and the Spanish Balearic Islands, is currently under investigation for possible environmental damage.

A press release from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment of the Balearic Islands on Tuesday, August 13, states that the production company behind the clip did not request “any authorization” to film.

The document also claims that the environmental agency received “numerous information” about “alleged violations” committed by the production company while filming in the protected sand dunes of S’Espalmador.

The video, released on August 8, was shot by Stillz, a Colombian-American photographer and film director whose real name is Matias Vasquez.

“The production company had never applied to the ministry for permission to film, which is why preliminary investigation measures were initiated,” the press release states.

It was also made clear that unauthorized filming is not a “crime against the environment,” but rather an administrative offense.

In the light-hearted video, 39-year-old Perry can be seen travelling on a ferry to the party island of Ibiza. The mother of one, who has daughter Daisy Dove (3) with her fiancé, Orlando Bloomfrolics in a bikini on the sandy shore of a beach, probably the private island of S’Espalmador, before reaching her fun destination.

“Lifetimes” is the second single from Perry’s upcoming album 143 and follows Woman’s World, which received mixed reviews upon its July 11 release.

143Set for release on September 20, it is Perry’s first new album in four years and promises to explore the singer’s current dance-pop era.

“I wanted to create a bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album whose central message is the number 143 of love,” Perry said in a statement to diversity on July 10. The album title is a code word for “I love you.”

In April, Perry began teasing 143a project inspired by her daughter. “What she has given me in my life is the unconditional love that I have always been looking for,” said Perry E! News at the time. “Yes, that’s what I draw from. Just like that, wholeness, happiness and just true, complete love.”
