Zenless Zone Zero Qingyi builds and represents

A good Zenless Zone Zero Qingyi build is easy to put together thanks to Qingyi’s versatile kit that works with several readily available W engines. She needs impact, like most stuns, but she’s also strong enough to justify keeping her on the field while your main DPS – ideally a burst damage dealer – isn’t in burst mode or on cooldown.

Our ZZZ Qingyi build guide details her best W-Engines and Drive Discs, and explains how her kit works and which stats should be prioritized.

ZZZ Qingyi Build

ZZZ Qingyi kit

Improved basic attacks are the highlight of Qingyi’s kit, along with a core passive ability that allows her to stun enemies faster and easier the more often you use her improved basic abilities. When one of Qingyi’s abilities hits, she collects Flash Connect Voltage and enters her improved state once she reaches 75 percent Flash Connect Voltage. Then you can hold down the basic attack button to consume all of the Flash Connect Voltage and watch Qingyi charge forward to perform a powerful attack while holding the button before finishing with an even more powerful finisher. Each point of Flash Connect Voltage above 75 percent that Qingyi consumes increases her damage and daze by one and 0.5 percent, respectively.

These attacks and finishing strikes are a key part of Qingyi’s core passive ability. When she lands one, her target walks away with five stacks of Subjugation. Each attack before the finishing strike adds an additional stack, and if you use it right when an opponent attacks, Qingyi will perform a perfect dodge before her finishing strike, adding an additional 10 stacks. Each stack of Subjugation increases stun damage against the affected enemy by 1.5 percent.

The rest of Qingyi’s kit is the usual mix of dodges, dash attacks, and support strikes, though her special attack works a little differently. Her normal special attack is very similar to Anby’s. She slashes upwards and then dashes back down, dealing electrical damage and dazing the target. The EX special version is the same, except it adds a series of strikes before Qingyi slashes downwards. The base cost is 60 energy, but you can hold down the special button to use up to 20 extra energy and extend the duration of the attack chain.

Qingyi’s EX Special’s damage multipliers are high for a stunner, so if she’s paired with a burst DPS, you can complement their damage with her EX Specials. This goes double if Qingyi is on a team with another PubSec or Assault. Her additional ability increases the stun of her base attack by 20 percent, and each impact point above 120 increases her attack by six, up to a maximum of 600.

ZZZ Qingyi Skill Priority

Qingyi’s basic attack is her most important asset, along with her core ability, although her special ability is just below it. Her evasion, support, and chain attacks are useful, but definitely shouldn’t take priority over the other three.

The short version is:

  • Core passive
  • Basic attack
  • Particularly
  • Evade
  • Chain attack
  • Help

ZZZ Qingyi W-engines

Ice jade teapot is Qingyi’s signature W engine and as you’d expect, it has everything it needs, including a secondary stat that increases the user’s Impact stat. When the equipped character lands a basic attack, they gain a stack of Tea-rrific, increasing the user’s Impact by 0.7 percent. That sounds insignificant, but the Tea-rrific effect can stack 30 times for a total of 21 percent additional Impact. If they have at least 15 Tea-rrific stacks and gain another, the party’s damage will increase by 20 percent, making this an excellent way to get some support utility out of Qingyi as well.

The reserved ones is a solid alternative if you have it and aren’t using Lycaon. After the equipped character lands an attack, their basic attacks deal six percent more damage and daze for eight seconds, and the effect can stack up to five times. You’ll have to go through most of Qingyi’s abilities quickly to get the maximum number of stacks, but since the majority of her damage and daze comes from her improved basic attacks, it’s worth the effort.

You have Steamer on the A-rank side, giving you an extra incentive to save all of Qingyi’s energy for her EX special. The user receives a two percent impact buff for every 10 energy they hold, and the effect stacks eight times for a total of 16 percent additional impact. The buff lasts for eight seconds after the equipped character has used up their energy.

A much easier choice and a perfect F2P W-Engine for Qingyi is Demarra Battery Mark IIAnby’s signature. It increases electrical damage by 15/22 percent and the equipped character gets an 18/25 percent energy regeneration buff when using an evasive counter or supportive attack. It helps you fire Qingyi’s EX Special more often and gives you something else to do besides just chaining basic attacks, and its secondary stat also gives you a nice impact buff. You can buy Demara Battery Mark II from the gadget store, so you don’t even have to mess with banners to get multiple copies of it.

Qingyi can use the B-rank engines (Vortex) Arrow and (Vortex) Hatchet too. Arrow grants 8/12 percent more daze to all of the user’s attacks and has Impact as a secondary stat, while Hatchet boosts Impact by 9/13 percent for 10 seconds after entering combat. You can purchase both from the gadget store, making it quick and easy to max out these stat buffs.

ZZZ Qingyi drive disks

Qingyi has a few Drive Disc sets to choose from depending on how much Impact you stack with her W-Engine. The first choice for any Stun character, including Qingyi, is Shockstar Disco.

  • Four-piece set: Increases effectiveness by six percent and grants a 20 percent stun buff to basic attacks, sprint attacks, and dodge counters.

Complete the whole thing with a two-piece set Swing Jazz to get its 20% energy regeneration buff, which gives Qingyi the chance to use her EX Special more often.

If you want to keep Qingyi on the field or increase her damage numbers instead of just relying on her for Daze, you can use Swing Jazz against two pieces of Thundermetalwhich increases electrical damage by 10 percent, or Hormonpunkto receive a 10 percent attack buff.

ZZZ Qingyi Statistics

Qingyi needs as much impact as possible, assuming she’s on a team that activates her additional ability. However, since Qingyi can deal quite a bit of damage herself, she also benefits from energy regeneration, attack, and PEN ratio. Target:

  • Slot IV: Attack, critical hit rate, critical damage
  • Slot V: Electrical damage or attack
  • Slot VI: Impact

Energy regeneration is important, but not enough to replace Impact on Slot VI unless you have a lot of stacking with their W engines. However, it is a solid secondary stat, along with Crit Rate, Crit Damage, and Elemental Attack.

ZZZ Qingyi Teams

Qingyi, like most Stun characters, will easily fit into most teams, but if you want to boost her attack with her additional ability, she will need to be on a team with another PubSec agent or an Electro agent.

Qingyi is a great fit for Zhu Yuan teams if you’re tired of using Nicole, as the two are the only PubSec agents in the game as of version 1.1. Zhu Yuan takes up a lot of time on the field, so you’ll mainly use Qingyi to take advantage of her improved fundamentals and build up Daze before using Zhu Yuan again her Improved Basic Attack. Lucy is an easy choice for off-field support who barely needs to do anything to activate some powerful attack buffs for the party, but if you don’t have her, consider using Soukaku instead.

However, Nicole is just as well suited as a support thanks to her exceptional ability to destroy defenses.

Resonaboo is a good choice from the Bangboo list if you want to increase Ether damage, although Booressure is our first choice as it helps keep everyone’s energy high.

Another option is:

  • Anton
  • Qingyi
  • Rina or Grace
  • Plugboo

Qingyi is also good for shock teams. Anton deals extra damage to shocked enemies and Qingyi’s stun abilities mean he can keep up the damage even when enemies aren’t shocked. With Grace around, enemies are almost always shocked anyway and Rina has an excellent range of support options including PEN ration buffs and easy shock application.
