Paymentology is the first company to connect Mastercard Cloud Edge across clouds

Paymentology has announced a new milestone: connecting to Mastercard via Mastercard’s Cloud Edge, making the company the first customer to connect across multiple cloud providers.

This development strengthens Paymentology’s cloud-first strategy, which aims to provide advanced payment solutions globally.

Mastercard’s Cloud Edge is designed to enable efficient and secure connections from any cloud provider and support hybrid connection patterns. This system helps fintech companies, issuing banks and other partners to seamlessly launch new payment services.

Merusha Naidu, Global Head of Partnerships at Paymentology, spoke about the significance of this development. She explained: “Paymentology is leading innovation in payments with our next-generation platform and multi-cloud network, making it easy to launch any type of card program. This evolution with our long-standing partner Mastercard underscores our commitment to a cloud-first approach and our positioning as one of the first issuer processors to operate entirely in the cloud. All of our customers and partners will benefit from our universal cloud connectivity, which brings greater flexibility to our products and services.”

The announcement comes at a critical time as companies in fintech, banking and telecom expand their operations across borders. These organizations often face challenges related to specialized hardware, physical connections and regional compliance requirements, which can cause delays and impact customer adoption.

Commenting on the collaboration, Christian Rau, SVP, Crypto and Fintech Enablement, Mastercard Europe, said: “As more organizations adopt digital payment services, Mastercard and its partners continue to value accessible, secure and innovative solutions. We are excited to build on our existing relationship with Paymentology as they leverage the benefits of Mastercard’s Cloud Edge to further enhance and optimize their cloud-first payment issuing platform.”

The integration of Mastercard Cloud Edge supports the expansion of Paymentology’s processing services and provides customers with improved reliability and scalability for card program deployment. This partnership simplifies transactions and ensures robust data security and performance, accelerating service delivery, minimizing delays in customer adoption, and creating a reliable, scalable and secure platform.

By connecting Paymentology to Mastercard’s Cloud Edge, the company can leverage the system’s full flexibility. This feature is designed to better serve Paymentology’s diverse clientele, which includes fintech companies, banks, telecoms and other industries. Customers gain access to Mastercard products and services through a single connection, streamlining the entire process.

This development is seen as a critical evolution in cloud infrastructure for payments. With advances in edge computing and the impending shift to 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT), fast data and transaction processing capabilities are becoming increasingly important for operational efficiency and an improved customer experience.
