According to Constable Mark Herman’s office, disclosing personal information such as the name of your child’s school, teachers, age, etc. can be misused by sex offenders, scammers, and others who want to harm your children.
The privacy settings on your phone or social media may not always protect you and your family from the dangers of the internet and your personal information. Officials recommend storing personal information offline.
According to experts, you should NEVER share the following information online:
-
Name of school
-
Old
-
Name and class of the teacher
-
Identification features such as size, weight, etc.
-
Excessively personal information (think of items related to passwords or answers to security questions, etc.)
If your photo contains such information, it is best to obscure or cross out the confidential answers before posting it online.
