DICK’S Sporting Goods to build “next generation” distribution center in Fort Worth » Dallas Innovates

Pittsburgh-based DICK’S Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS) has announced plans to build an 800,000-square-foot regional distribution center in South Fort Worth. The project is Over the next decade, 300 new full-time jobs are expected to be created in the region, the company said.

The “next generation facility” is intended to boost DICK’s business in Texas in increasing The company added that it has distribution capabilities for over 100 DICK’S Sporting Goods stores in multiple states.

The center will be located on a 220-acre site in Hillwood’s Risinger/35 Logistics Park at Risinger Road and Old Burleson Road in South Fort Worth.

Dallas-based Hillwood, the developer of AllianceTexas, will develop and build the new custom project along with Hillwood Construction Services.

Why Fort Worth was chosen

DICK’S said it chose Fort Worth as a location for the distribution center “due to its business-friendly environment, its qualified and reliable workforce and its proximity to DICK’S existing – and growing – physical presence in Texas.”

The existing DICK’S distribution network includes five additional locations in Atlanta, Georgia; Conklin, New York; Goodyear, Arizona; Plainfield, Indiana; And Smithton, Pennsylvania.

Hillwood SVP Reid Goetz called DICK’S Sporting Goods “a first-class company with a first-class brand.”

“We are proud that they have chosen Fort Worth and our highly experienced, vertically integrated Hillwood industrial development team for this major investment in new facilities and supply chain network expansion,” Goetz added in a statement.

Sustainability must be integrated

DICK’S said the new Fort Worth facility will pursue sustainability initiatives including high-efficiency lighting and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, recycled and environmentally friendly building materials, energy management systems and recycling programs for corrugated cardboard and plastics.

The groundbreaking for the project is planned for early fall. During the construction phase, it is expected to create “more than 800 temporary jobs in the construction industry in the region,” DICK’S said.

The opening of the facility is planned for early 2026.

Stream’s National Program Management Team led by Joe Iatauro And Patrick Daugherty represent the owner and advise Hillwood on the development of the new distribution center. GSR is the lead architect of the project and Westwood is the civil engineering planning office for the project.

Founded in 1948, DICK’S operates more than 850 DICK’S Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, Public Lands, Going Going Gone! and Warehouse Sale stores. DICK’S also owns and operates DICK’S House of Sport and Golf Galaxy Performance Center, as well as GameChanger, a mobile youth sports platform for live streaming, scheduling, communications and scoring.
