During this year’s D23 Disney Fans got a taste of the new lands and rides opening at Walt Disney World over the next decade. D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is the biggest experience of the year for diehard Disney fans and is where the company announces future plans for its franchises and theme parks. This year, Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, revealed plans to expand and enhance the experience at Walt Disney World.
There have been rumors about possible expansions at Magic Kingdom Park for some time, especially after Splash Mountain was recently renamed Tiana’s Bayou. Likewise, guests have wondered if successful franchises like Magical would get a place in the parks. These rumors and theories were finally answered at D23 and the results promise a pretty magical experience for visitors.

Magic Kingdom is finally getting a new land expansion, and for Disney villain fans, it’s a dream come true. In the biggest expansion ever for the Magic Kingdom, a new land based on classic villains will be unveiled within the next decade. Not much information has been released about the new area yet, but D’Amaro said it will include two new attractions, as well as themed dining and shopping experiences.
More changes are also coming to the Magic Kingdom. As part of the ongoing efforts to improve Frontierland, guests will soon be able to experience Radiator Springs with the addition of two Cars Attractions. Guests can look forward to a racetrack as well as a family-friendly attraction that younger guests will also enjoy. The new rides being added to the Magic Kingdom seem promising, and more details on the locations and development of the attractions are expected soon.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom: With Encanto and Indiana Jones through the tropical regions of America
The news doesn’t end with the Magic Kingdom. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is also being renovated and includes a new land based on the tropical Americas. Guests will visit the area through Pueblo Esperanza, a fictional village in the rainforest. From there, guests can explore a Mayan temple in a new attraction based on Indiana JonesThe ride is a completely new experience, although other Indiana Jones The numerous attractions in the parks offer guests a completely new adventure.
For Magical Fans, there is finally an attraction in the Disney parks to celebrate the franchise. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the day after Antonio receives his gift, there will be a drive-through attraction that takes guests through Casita. Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Tour of the Laugh Factory from “Monsters, Inc.”
