The Museum of Broadway opens Broadway Exhibition in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month

The exhibition will highlight the influence of Latin American and Hispanic culture on the theater industry.


The Museum of Broadway has announced a special exhibition celebrating Latino and Hispanic heritage on stage. !VIVA! Broadway: Ayer, hoy y mañana, The exhibit opens on September 15 in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and will remain open through October 15.

Created in partnership with the Broadway League and with support from the Miranda Family Fund, the exhibit brings to life ¡Viva! Broadway, the Broadway League’s national audience development program dedicated to engaging and engaging Latino and Hispanic audiences through activities, media programs and partnerships. “The Broadway League’s ¡Viva! Broadway initiative is pleased to partner with the Museum of Broadway to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by highlighting the remarkable achievements of Latino and Hispanic artists on Broadway in a month-long, comprehensive exhibition curated by the Museum and the League,” said Jason Laks, interim president of the Broadway League, in a statement. “Visitors will have the opportunity to see iconic pieces from beloved Broadway shows up close. In addition, the month will include a series of special events and panel discussions with distinguished Broadway artists and industry experts.”

Broadway and the Museum of Broadway to showcase the extraordinary contributions of Latino and Hispanic artists on Broadway and to American theater as a whole,” added Luis A. Miranda, Jr., Chair of the ¡Viva! Broadway Advisory Board and Patriarch of the Miranda Family Fund. “We look forward to shining a spotlight on our community’s unparalleled impact on this art form, and we couldn’t be more grateful to the Museum of Broadway for providing a stage to celebrate and share the impact of these achievements on the industry, its professionals and theater audiences for generations to come.”
