Since Epic announced that several new Marvel weapons would be added to Chapter 5, Season 4, various Fortnite fans have urged competitive players to stop complaining to prevent them from being nerfed.
Fortnite has been ramping up the excitement for the next Marvel season of Absolute Doom, which finally kicks off on August 16. The community got their first taste of what to expect with Doctor Doom’s in-game live event and an official trailer that revealed tons of Marvel characters and their weapons.
Nevertheless, many enthusiastic fans have asked competitive players – both professionals and lesser-performing players – in social media posts not to complain about them.
One player posted on FortniteBR Reddit on August 12 to express his frustration: “I don’t want to see nerfs that ruin the fun. They should stop listening to the comp players crying and just let this season be fun and chaotic, letting comp babies climb into the ranks where it stays boring.”
Meanwhile, another viral post with over 35,000 likes on Twitter/X read: “I don’t want to hear any bullshit from the comp players this time. Not a single word. LET’S HAVE FUN NEXT SEASON.”
“As much as I hope so, unfortunately her voice is too loud for Epic,” one player replied, with another adding, “After last season’s nerfs, we deserve it.”
Others simply called on Epic to “split the loot pool” to solve the alleged problem. This has been common practice for years in popular FPS titles, such as Call of Duty Ranked Play. The developers have restricted certain weapons, items, and even weapon attachments for their competitive mode.
Another added: “Two pools, one for comp and one for pubs. If you want to sweat your ass off without having fun, go to comp. If you want to have fun but you might get fucked up by some weird OP shit, pubs are for you!”
Instead, some praised the balancing adjustments. “Things can be balanced and fun at the same time. I love fun Marvel mythos too, but I don’t want to lose every single game to a cross-map Doom Beam because I didn’t land at the right POI at the beginning,” one said.
“You guys are already anticipating things to complain about, what is wrong with this community,” one player countered. Fortnite has been regularly releasing weekly hotfixes and major updates throughout each season to add new content and issue waves of buffs and nerfs, so these are always being implemented.
