Salman Khan says Manoj Kumar wants to strip Salim-Javed of Kranti writing credit | Bollywood

Salman Khan recently attended the trailer launch of Angry Young Men with his father Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar. Javed’s son Farhan Akhtar and daughter Zoya Akhtar were also present at the event. During the question and answer session with reporters, Salman made a revelation and stated that Manoj Kumar wants to strip Salim-Javed of the writing credit for Kranti. Javed opened up about it in the video shared by Viral Bollywood.

Javed Akhtar on Manoj Kumar’s honest confession

Salman Khan said that Manoj Kumar wants to take over the writing role of Salim-Javed for Kranti.

Talking about Salim-Javed’s films, Farhan said that Kranti was one of their films which he had seen over 300 times. When asked about the film, Salman said, “I just want an interview with Mr Manoj Kumar. He takes the credit away from Salim-Javed and says he wrote the script.” Farhan interrupted him and said, “Did he? Then we will have a separate documentary on Manoj Ji.” Reacting to Salman’s statement, Javed said, “I find it very, very honest of him to have made that confession.” Salman made a satirical dig and concluded by saying, “It is a fact. He says I wrote it and read it to them. But he wrote it.”

Karan Johar and Zoya Akhtar praise Salim-Javed

In the trailer of the documentary series Angry Young Men, Salim-Javed’s friends, family and colleagues talk about their film journey. Javed’s daughter Zoya is also seen in the trailer and says, “They have made 24 films together, 22 of which were blockbusters. That has never happened before and I don’t think it will happen again.” Karan Johar praises the writing duo and says, “Can you imagine a writer today saying, ‘I want a crore more than Salman Khan.’ That was the power of Salim-Javed.”

“Angry Young Men” premieres on Prime Video on August 20.
