4 people arrested after speeding during traffic stop in Riverdale: Police
Four suspects in a wanted vehicle were arrested after an hours-long chase that began in Riverdale.
RIVERDALE, Illinois. – Four suspects who fled a traffic stop in a vehicle wanted for serious crimes were arrested Monday following a chase and manhunt by Riverdale police.
The incident began around noon when Riverdale police were alerted via license plate cameras to the wanted vehicle entering their city. Officers quickly located the car and confirmed it was wanted in connection with crimes committed in another jurisdiction.
When officers tried to stop the traffic, the vehicle sped away, according to police.
Officers performed a PIT maneuver and disabled the vehicle at the corner of 138th Street and Ashland Avenue. The four suspects fled on foot in multiple directions, prompting a manhunt involving officers from multiple jurisdictions.
After several hours, all four suspects were arrested, police said. Firearms were confiscated and the vehicle was seized.
The suspects suffered minor injuries in the incident. No police officers were injured.
Charges have been brought against the suspects.
