Stephen King praises ‘Bad Boys: Ride Or Die’ as film hits major box office; WATCH here

As Bad Boys: Ride or Die nears its theatrical release, the film has reached its latest major milestone. Last weekend, it surpassed the $400 million mark at the global box office, barely two months after its premiere. Ride or Die became the second film in the franchise to enter the $400 club, following 2020’s Bad Boys for Life, which grossed $426.5 million.

What better way to celebrate this milestone than to earn praise from famous author Stephen King? The legendary author took to X (formerly Twitter) to sing the praises of Bad Boys: Ride or Die. “This was a lot of fun. Martin Lawrence always makes me laugh,” he wrote, specifically mentioning one of the film’s main heroes.

Starring Will Smith and Lawrence, the film was exceptionally successful at the box office, bringing the total revenue of the Bad Boys franchise to over $1.2 billion worldwide. It also received great ratings and reviews from audiences and critics, making the film a complete package.

The latest installment earned the franchise’s best audience score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and received solid reviews. It was also a big hit for Smith following his 2022 Oscar scandal, in which he slapped awards show host Chris Rock over a joke.

In the sequel, Smith and Lawrence reprise their roles as Detective Lieutenant Mike Lowrey and Detective Lieutenant Marcus Burnett, Miami’s drug enforcement agents. The dynamic duo begins a cold war against the twisted law enforcement officers and fights to preserve the legacy of police chief Captain Conrad Howard (Joe Pantoliano).

The duo have been with the franchise since its inception in 1995, making this comeback extra special. Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the film features an all-star cast including Vanessa Hudgens, Dennis McDonald, Tasha Smith, Tiffany Haddish, Alexander Ludwig, Jacob Scipio, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffuud and Paola Núñez.

“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” is currently in theaters.
