New York State Police seize large quantities of drugs during routine traffic stop

STAMFORD, Connecticut. – A five-week investigation led by the Stamford Police Department’s Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit culminated Tuesday in the arrest of Main Street resident Miguel “Cuba” Rodriguez-Veloz, marking a significant advance in the department’s efforts to curb drug trafficking in the area.

Rodriguez-Veloz was arrested around 2:30 p.m. after leaving an apartment in the 90 block of Liberty Street. Authorities reported that he had 1.2 grams of powder cocaine, 2.9 grams of crack cocaine, 4 grams of fentanyl and $10 in cash on him at the time of his arrest.

Following his arrest, Stamford police executed a search warrant on the Liberty Street apartment identified as a “stash house” with ties to Rodriguez-Veloz. The search found 112 grams of cocaine, nearly 8 kilograms (7,962 grams) of fentanyl, $2,575 in cash, and various packaging materials and scales.

“This arrest underscores our commitment to dismantling drug trafficking in our community,” Stamford police said.

The department has reiterated its commitment to pursuing individuals involved in illegal drug activities in Stamford and stressed that efforts to combat these activities will continue.
