Kylian Mbappé’s X-account was hacked overnight after a series of bizarre posts were published on the Real Madrid star’s page.

Mbappe, 25, has made a solid start in the Spanish capital since his surprise move to the Bernabeu this summer.

The French striker has scored once in three games and has already won his first trophy with Carlo Ancelotti’s side after they beat Atalanta to win the UEFA Super Cup earlier this month.

However, on Wednesday evening, a series of posts reportedly linked to a cryptocurrency scam were published on Mbappe’s account, including several insults against eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi and claims that he was close to a move to Manchester United.

One post read: “Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest soccer player of all time. The dwarf (Lionel Messi) is NOT my problem.”

Another post read: “Manchester is red,” before Mbappe later dropped another transfer hint when he said: “Yo @ManCity… I’ve been lured, I’m going to @ManUTD. 2028 LET’S GET DOWN WITH A FREE TRANSFER.”

Mbappe’s account also claimed that fan account @UTDTrey was “the best account” while calling Tottenham “shit”.

According to a report in the Mirror, the hack affected the crypto token “MBAPPE.” The value of these tokens rose to tens of millions of pounds within minutes of the posts, before subsequently crashing and falling back to zero.

All posts have now been deleted by Mbappe and the French superstar has still not commented on the hack. The 25-year-old is considered the youngest prominent user to fall victim to the crypto scam.

Mbappe’s pinned tweet during the hack read: “I’m giving back to my community. I’m giving back to my community. I support crypto and I believe you should too! Any crypto sent to my address will be sent back to you double!”

Several users reacted to the posts on Mbappe’s account, with one commenting: “Where the hell is his PR team, this is unacceptable,” before another added: “It turns out Mbappe’s PR team doesn’t even exist?”

Others found some of the posts funny, with one saying: “Mbappe is a United fan, I knew that all along.”

Another fan chimed in and said: “Hacked before he could score a La Liga goal, shakes my head.”

Real have four points from two games in LaLiga after only a 1-1 draw at Mallorca on matchday one.

Mbappe forms a star-studded attacking line alongside the likes of Rodrygo and Vinicius Jnr, even though the Frenchman has yet to score his first league goal.

Nevertheless, Ancelotti stressed that he was calm about the situation and said he was happy to have Mbappe on board after the club had been courting the striker for years.

“He scored his last goal on August 14 (in the Supercup),” he said. “Only two weeks have passed since then, so there is no reason to worry.”

“Neither we as a club nor he himself are worried. He is very happy here, delighted and really wants to score a goal in the next game.”

“That also applies to Vinicius, who has not scored a goal this season and I see no concerns for him either.”
