Burglar breaks in, cooks, cleans, showers, does laundry … and then disappears without stealing anything

You know you’ve been robbed when things are scattered around the house. But a burglar cleaned up after breaking into homes in Washington. Police say a “hungry” thief broke into several homes in Washington, cooked himself some food and then cleaned up. He didn’t take anything from the house, either.

Eddie Andujo, a resident of the Clearwood Community Association, told KING5 that a burglar broke into his home after breaking the kitchen window. He used several of the items and cooked himself a meal. He washed the dishes and took a shower. The suspect even folded Andujo’s laundry. However, he left the house without stealing anything and even left a nice note.

Andujo told KING 5: “When I arrived Friday morning, I saw a note on my kitchen table. It said, ‘I desperately needed food. I broke into your house. Please forgive me. I ate your food, washed my clothes and took a shower.'”

“He made spaghetti. But the funny thing is he washed his dishes. So I guess he was a nice crook, I don’t know… and he folded the blankets that he used.”

The person also pointed out Andujo’s popcorn machine, saying it “wasn’t working properly.”

No cell phone reception

The neighborhood where more such reports have been received has no cell reception because there is no cell tower there. Police searched the neighborhood with sniffer dogs for the suspect but were unable to find him.

Another resident, Bethany Stirber, told KING5 the burglar stole her garage key after breaking into her car. He then tried to get into the garage, but since she was home at the time, he left.

“On Sunday I caught him again. I called 911. I could hear them, but they couldn’t hear me. And they didn’t get here in time. He got away,” she said.

This is not the first case of a polite intruder that has been reported. In 2019, a burglar cleared out a Boston home and made roses out of toilet paper.
