Genshin Impact Kachina build and teams

The best Genshin Impact Kachina Build focuses on just a few stats, as this excellent 4-star character doesn’t need much else to shine. Kachina’s abilities scale with defense, and her kit works just as well in a damage role as it does in a support role if you have the right artifacts.

Genshin Impact Kachina Weapons

Kachina, like most 4-star weapons, doesn’t have a signature weapon in the usual sense, but there is a new Natlan weapon that fits her perfectly. It is Natlan’s craftable polearm, Rainbow footprint. It’s the only polearm since Genshin 5.0 with Defense as a secondary stat, and Kachina needs Defense since her damage depends on it. Footprint of the Rainbow also increases the equipped character’s Defense by 16/32 percent for 15 seconds after using its Elemental Skill.

Since Kachina needs geo damage and defense, there isn’t much reason to invest in other stats. Critical Hit Rate and Critical Damage are helpful, although most polearms combine these stats with others that Kachina doesn’t need. If you don’t go with Footprint of the Rainbow, your next best choice is The catchwhich you can get for free by completing quests for the Inazuma Fishing Club.

The Catch increases the user’s energy recharge with its secondary stat, while the passive stat increases its elemental damage by 16/32 percent and burst critical hit rate by 6/12 percent. You can also get the weapon’s refining materials from the Fishing Association, so you can reach the maximum buffs without much trouble.

If you have a spare part Favonius Lancethis could also be considered for Kachina, although it’s a bit less impressive. It increases the user’s energy charge and increases the chance of them producing more energy particles with their attacks. Kachina’s burst deals heavy damage and costs 70 energy, so she needs to be charged quite often, especially if she’s on a team without an energy battery character.

Genshin Impact Kachina Artifacts

Kachina’s best artifacts depend on the role you give her. She can fill a main DPS slot, especially with high enough defense, but if you give her the new Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City Set, you can play her as a sub-DPS who uses her abilities and offers some support to the party thanks to her artifact set.

• 2-piece set: The equipping character regenerates six energy when a party member triggers Nightsoul Burst
• 4-piece set: After the equipping character triggers an elemental reaction, all party members receive a 12 percent damage bonus based on the elemental types used in that reaction. If the equipping character is in the Blessing of the Night Soul state—which is often the case with Kachina—the party receives an additional 28 percent damage bonus based on the elements used in the reaction.

A simpler set that increases Kachina’s damage and works in a main DPS or sub-DPS role is Shell of opulent dreams.

• 2-piece set: Increases defense by 30 percent
• 4-piece effect: When the equipped character deals Geo damage to an enemy, they gain a stack of Curiosity. While outside the field, the character gains a stack of Curiosity every three seconds. Each stack increases their defense by six percent, and they can have four stacks at once.

Kachina has additional Geo damage as a bonus stat, so your main concerns should be defense, critical hit rate and damage, and energy recharge.

• Sands: Defense
• Chalice: Defense or Geo Damage
• Mature: Critical Hit Rate or Critical Damage

Getting a higher crit rate or more crit damage for your substats is awesome if you can manage it, but Kachina’s stats are also pretty high without landing crits every time. Just make sure to keep her energy topped up a bit when you’re not using The Catch or Favonius Lance.

Genshin Impact Kachina Teams

Kachina can fit in well with most teams, especially when using the Cinder City set. She’s a quick and effective way to trigger Nightsoul Burst for other Natlan characters, making Mualani an easy choice as a team member, but she could also hold her own on a team on her own.

A composition is:

Mualani and Kachina reduce Nightsoul Burst’s cooldown, and if Kachina uses Cinder City – which she should on this team – she can increase Mualani’s Hydro damage and your Pyro support unit’s damage. Throwing an Anemo character into the mix to cause vortexes and reduce the opponent’s elemental resistance will set you up nicely. Mualani also benefits from Pyro when she triggers vaporization reactions, so that’s a nice bonus.

You could also use her to create a team that is predominantly made up of Geo.

Navia is the main damage dealer of this group, while Kachina – also equipped with Cinder City – triggers crystals from your non-Geo units to power up Navia. Gorou is also there to increase the Geo damage of the group.

You can also make Kachina your main DPS along with Gorou, give her Husk of Opulent Dreams, and fill out the rest of the party as you see fit. She’s an excellent unit in any case and fits into any team that needs shields, geo damage, or elemental buffs.
