Coffee expansion: Ostara Coffee Roasters in Fort Worth, TX

Coffee expansion: Ostara Coffee Roasters in Fort Worth, TX

It shouldn’t be that surprising, but we were still surprised by the amount and quality of expansions coming out of the North Texas coffee scene this year. It feels like every week we’re featuring a cool new cafe from Dallas or Denton, and today the trend continues with a look at Ostara Coffee in Fort Worth, Texas, which is set to open in October.

The 2024 Build-Outs of Coffee are presented by Ceado and Dona. The 2024 Build-outs of Coffee are sponsored by Pacific Barista Series, La Marzocco, Acaia and Ghirardelli.

As Sprudge tells of Natalie Willard.

For those who don’t know, tell us something about your company?

Ostara Coffee Roasters is the first 100% woman-owned and operated coffee roaster in North Texas.

Since 2022, we’ve been dedicated to improving the Fort Worth coffee scene by roasting our beans locally, perfecting each cup we brew in our shop, and bottling the tastiest cold brew in Texas! Our commitment to quality and community is at the heart of everything we do, from our sustainable business practices to our ongoing collaboration with our community.

Sharing a cup of coffee together has always been an important ritual for us and we hope we can make it special for you too.

To what extent does your project take sustainability into account?

We practice sustainability as a company through a bottle recycling program. We use glass bottles for our cold brew, which can be reused up to 20 times before being recycled, and we take back any intact bottles for a credit toward the next purchase. We also recycled the wood from the original bar – the brewery next door took it to build more tables, and we’re creating a lived-in patio with built-in green space with native plants instead of sealing off more green space. We also take advantage of the Texas sun with solar-powered patio lighting.
