This was the model’s first official drive on U.S. soil and it explored Los Angeles and Malibu, stopping at various locations along the way. It drove part of the Pacific Coast Highway before arriving in Beverly Hills and making a brief stop at the brand’s dealership, where it delighted customers and fans.
After its LA tour, during which it posed several times in front of the camera, the Bugatti Tourbillon is now on its way to the Old Continent. It will return to France where it will take part in the Chantilly Arts et Elegance Richard Mille in September, which is known as “the most elegant automobile competition.“

But what exactly is the Bugatti Tourbillion? Well, a brand new hypercar that has brought the French automaker, part of the Volkswagen Group, into the age of electrification. In fact, unlike the Chiron and the Veyron and their derivatives, it no longer features an 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine. Instead, it is equipped with an 8.3-liter V16 engine. The engine was designed by Cosworth and is naturally aspirated. Rimac’s three-motor setup supports the V16 and contributes to impressive performance.
According to official figures, the combustion engine, which can rotate up to 9,000 rpm, and the three electric motors together produce 1,775 hp (1,800 hp/1,324 kW). That’s 197 hp (200 hp/147 kW) more than Bugatti’s discontinued Chiron Super Sport, enabling acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just two seconds. That makes it four tenths faster than the Chiron Super Sport. The Tourbillon needs less than 25 seconds to accelerate to 400 km/h.
But what about the top speed? According to Bugatti, this is 277 miles per hour or 445 kilometers per hour. In addition, unlike its modern predecessors, namely the Chiron and the Veyron, the brand new Bugatti Tourbillon can also run on pure electricity, with its completely silent range being given as 60 km. That’s a decent number for a car designed to eat up a lot of miles on intercontinental trips. As for the starting price, as mentioned above, it’s the equivalent of 4.1 million dollars.
