The solution to the Devin drama

First things first! What happened after Devin incredibly long go to Jenn’s hotel room before the Fantasy Suite Week rose ceremony? He was nervous after telling Jenn he loved her and getting no response, so he went to get his feelings out, knowing full well that it might lead to him having to go home early.

As the two sat on Jenn’s couch, Devin explained that he really enjoyed their time together, but he was “in a weird place” with his feelings and doubted her feelings. “I’ve tried not to pressure you, and I know how difficult it is for you to be in your position, but for me, in so many of my relationships, I wasn’t the priority, I was the second and third option, and I felt like a sure thing before,” he said. “I feel like I’m wanted here, but I don’t feel like I’m needed here, and that scares me because I’ve risked everything for you; my feelings, my mind.”

Devin told Jenn that he wanted to stick it out with her until the end, but he didn’t know how he would without that validation, so she finally threw herself into it. “I’m not as good at expressing my feelings as you are. I know that’s not my strong suit, and I want to be able to do better for you. I’m sorry I didn’t put your mind at ease,” Jenn told him. “I don’t know how to have a healthy relationship. I don’t know how to be, maybe the way you need me to be. And I want to do that for you, and I want to feel like I can do that the way you do for me every week.”

Jenn eventually told Devin that she didn’t know what she would do if he didn’t join her on her journey, saying, “Devin, I love you, you fucking idiot! I love you. I really do. And sometimes I just don’t know how I can be as amazing as you.” The two exchanged the L-word several times before parting ways, and suddenly Devin was healed! “I feel stronger than ever! I feel like a new person! I’m in love!” he said. “Thrilled is the only adjective I could say. I think I have what I need to move on…”

While Devin and Marcus both went to the rose ceremony after hearing “I love you” from Jenn, things unfortunately didn’t look good for my easy-going darling Jonathon.

“I’m stressed, but if I get a rose today, it’s going to feel incredible. I told Jenn from the beginning that I’m a little hesitant, but after our night, I can see a future with Jenn. I can see her as part of my family,” Jonathon said. “She has these incredible relationships with these other guys, and I never even thought about other people’s relationships until today. I don’t know how amazing it is compared to these two amazing guys… I regret not being able to step in sooner. I want to tell her how I really feel. I just hope to God I’m not too late, because I know she’s the one for me.”

After Jenn gave Devin and Marcus roses, Jonathon’s eyes filled with tears, he gritted his teeth and looked down in disappointment. Jenn led him to a bench where she dared to ask “How are you?” and he said he felt like his own worst enemy because he should have fallen in love with her faster. “I know it doesn’t help our situation now, but I was walking on the beach all alone last night and found these chairs overlooking the ocean and just needed a second to think. And the whole time I was sitting there thinking, I found the clarity I needed. There was no one I would rather be sitting there with than you. And I realized it had taken me too long to realize how incredible you are.”

Jonathon said Jenn taught her so much about herself and what he wanted in a future partner, explaining, “I think you were perfect for me and I wasn’t perfect for you. And that’s a really bitter pill for me to swallow.” Jenn thanked him for the amazing experience and Jonathon headed home, saying to himself, “I could have been there sooner. I could have done better. I could have been better. I could have envisioned a great future with this girl and I feel like the biggest idiot because something amazing was right in front of me and I was too much of my own enemy to realize it until it was too late.”

Jonathan Johnson Says it all After his emotional elimination

When Jesse Palmer welcomed Jonathon on stage during the Men Tell All event, the season 21 contestant had nothing but positive things to say about his experience on the show and his ex. But he was definitely heartbroken that the relationship didn’t work out.

“It was a beautiful journey with incredible moments, and to see it all end is just – I didn’t want that. I missed something incredible and regretted not getting there much faster,” he said. “There was never a dull moment. She listened. She’s so attentive to everything. She put you at ease about your feelings. There were things that were left unsaid – that I wasn’t even afraid of, but that I was terrified of – and she just took me aside and said, ‘Hey, it’s OK. You can do this.'”

When asked what it was like watching Fantasy Suites, Jonathon said it was hard to see her fall in love with Marcus and Devin while his relationship with her remained casual. “That was hard to watch. I thought there was love in both relationships. And we’re at a point where we can’t get over it. So that was definitely hard to watch.”

Still, Jonathon was “beyond excited to see Jenn.” “I love Jen very much… I’m just going to be beaming. I’m going to be so excited to just hug her, say hello and hopefully tell her that she found exactly what she’s looking for,” he said.
