Jacardia: Staying was the right move

Jacardia: Staying was the right move

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Bookmakers have set the odds for Missouri State’s season opener at third-ranked Montana.

Insiders believe the Grizzlies are the favorites with a 16.5-point lead.

Missouri State players must respectfully disagree with these quotes.

The players are confident they can stay with the Griz.

Ten starters return to Missouri State’s offense.

And that includes quarterback Jacob Clark and running back Jacardia Wright.

Wright had ample opportunity to follow the NIL money to another school.

But the running back decided to stay in Springfield and enjoy his final season.

“I felt like it was the best opportunity. You know the grass isn’t greener on the other side. And I honestly want to play. With six months left, it wasn’t ideal to go to another school during fall camp and expect to be number one again. I just want to do my best for this team. Win every game, of course. I really don’t like to say my personal goals because at the end of the day, it’s a team sport,” Wright said.
