Hersheypark plans record-breaking swing carousel

The world’s tallest Screamin’ Swing ride is coming to Hershey Park next year.

The Pennsylvania theme park announced today that it Twizzlers – Twisted Gravity next summer. The S&S Screamin’ Swing will launch riders 42 metres into the air and reach a top speed of 110 km/h.

The maximum height of 137 feet beats the current record for a Screamin’ Swing by two feet, currently held by the Serengeti Flyer at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and the Tidal Surge at SeaWorld San Antonio.

Guests at Twizzlers Twisted Gravity at Hersheypark sit in one of four branded zones on two gondolas, featuring Twizzlers strawberry, cherry, Hershey’s chocolate and black licorice flavors.

“We continue to invest in attractions that leverage unique Hershey brands, so we’re excited to add a Twizzlers-branded Screamin’ Swing to our unmatched ride portfolio next summer,” said Vikki Hultquist, vice president of Hersheypark & ​​Entertainment Operations. “Twizzlers Twisted Gravity offers our guests the best of both worlds – the ultimate thrill and unprecedented views of our park’s beautiful 300 acres as they soar to record-breaking heights and defy gravity.”

The ride will have a minimum height of 48 inches and is scheduled to open in summer 2025.
