TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The City of Toledo Arts Commission and Parks Department are looking for artists to create designs for the new shoot-around court at Inez Nash Park.

Organizers say a design review board will select three artists/teams to propose complete designs for the surface of the shoot-around court and each of the five back walls. The court measures 50 feet by 30 feet, or approximately 1,170 square feet.

Each finalist will receive a scholarship of $2,000.

“We are looking for artists who have experience integrating public art into parks and incorporating community input into the creative process,” the arts commission said.

According to the organizers, the project is open to all artists in the USA who are at least 18 years old. Artist teams can apply, even from several disciplines.

Qualified individuals must submit their qualifications online via the Arts Commission website.

The schedule for the project is as follows:

  • 21 August: Launch of the call for qualifications
  • September 24: Deadline for RFQ submissions
  • 25 September: Review of applications begins

  • October 29: Finalists visit the site
  • December 3: Finalists present proposals
