D23 came and went without any word on a brand new Star Wars attraction coming to the Disney parks. But there is a currently existing attraction at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom that will feature some familiar faces. The Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run attraction will feature a new mission featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu.

Dave Filoni, creative executive at Lucasfilm, took the stage at D23’s Disney Experiences panel to make the announcement. Filoni noted that Epic Games’ Unreal Engine – which already helped Lucasfilm produce The Mandalorian through the virtual set called The Volume – will be used to bring Din Djarin and his adopted son Grogu into Smuggler’s Run.

“The intersection of storytelling and innovation has always been central to Lucasfilm, and we’re excited to see where this collaboration takes us next,” said Filoni. “Imagine it: flying alongside Mando and Grogu on thrilling and dangerous missions.”

The new mission – or missions, as Filoni suggests – will be added to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run in 2026. This is no coincidence, as The Mandalorian and Grogu movie are also scheduled to hit theaters on May 22, 2026.
