Uber Black’s comeback: What to expect from the revamped premium rides

Uber is planning to relaunch its premium ride-hailing service Uber Black in India, nearly a decade after it was discontinued in 2014. Uber Black offers a 5-star experience for those seeking a luxurious mode of transport. The service aims to provide a stylish and comfortable ride and is aimed at customers who prefer a higher-end experience. This move is part of Uber’s efforts to expand its service offerings and cater to the diverse needs of its users in India.

The new offering aims at a more “sustainable” business model and is expected to cost 30 to 40 percent more than before. It will hit the streets of Mumbai in the next few weeks. Uber Black offers its passengers premium vehicles for their journeys, including high-end SUVs and MUVs from brands such as Toyota and MG Motors.

Uber’s premium category pairs passengers with the highest-rated drivers who give them a sense of luxury. All drivers in the Uber Black category have a rating of 4.85 or above and have completed over 500 trips. Customers get a premium taxi service with more privacy and comfort than the commercial sedans currently available in India.

With a significant number of travelers currently looking to try out its premium on-demand services with their high-end experience, Uber targets a wide range of passengers with different mobility needs.

Uber’s strategic move is timely as the demand for luxury transportation is increasing rapidly, making Uber a service that appeals to a wide audience. The company also wants to appeal to businesses by introducing this service through its fleet partners. Uber is focused on meeting the needs of both individuals and businesses, ensuring comprehensive coverage and improved market presence. The revamped version of Uber is designed to appeal to both sides, with the strategic goal of increasing its presence in the taxi market.
